Blue Metis Specifications
Day charters only — the 3 cabins are available through the day for changing and resting.
Blue Metis
Blue Metis is a 50ft Lagoon 500 sailing catamaran working out of Chalong Pier. She is the largest of the three Badaro catamarans, carrying 20 guests as standard and up to 30 at maximum — enough for a large family group or a small company day out.
Built in 2015, she has 3 cabins and 2 bathrooms below deck and cruises at 8 knots. The cabins are open through the day for changing and for anyone who wants to get out of the sun.
She sails under the Badaro Yacht Club flag out of Chalong Pier on the south-east corner of Phuket — the closest departure point to Coral Island, Maiton and Racha, which is why those three make up most of her published programme.
Who she suits
A catamaran sits on two hulls rather than one, so there is markedly less roll at anchor than on a monohull of the same length, and considerably more deck area per foot. That combination suits families with young children, anyone prone to seasickness, and groups who want to spread out rather than sit shoulder to shoulder. At 20 guests standard and 30 maximum, Blue Metis covers everything from a family day to a birthday or a small company outing.
What’s included
Every charter includes captain and crew, a welcome drink, soft drinks, fresh fruit, one kayak, one SUP paddle board, snorkelling masks, life jackets, towels, insurance and 7% VAT. A large inflatable swimming pool can be added for ฿2,000.
Quoted separately: food, land transfer, national park fees, the Banana Beach island fee (฿100 per person) and crew tips. Lunch and a minivan transfer can both be arranged — tell us your group size and we will price them alongside the charter.
Routes and pricing
Blue Metis runs 15 published programmes. The shortest are the half-day trips — morning 8:00–13:00 or afternoon 14:00–19:00 — starting at ฿31,000. A sunset run to Promthep Cape leaves at 16:00 and returns at 19:00. Full days are nine hours and open up the longer routes to Racha and the Khai Islands, either singly or paired with Coral or Maiton.
Rates are for the whole vessel, not per person, so a group of six pays the same as a group of 30. Between 24 December and 5 January every programme carries a ฿5,000 peak-season surcharge, shown in the right-hand column of the table above.
Where she sails
Published itineraries cover Coral Island, Khai & Maiton Islands and the Racha Islands, plus a sunset run to Promthep Cape. Each destination page sets out what the route involves, when to go and which other vessels run it.
