The Princess 78 Maritimus
Maritimus is a Princess 78: a 78ft flybridge motor yacht from Princess Yachts, launched in 2012 and refitted in 2024. By day she takes 20 guests; overnight she sleeps 8 across 4 cabins. A crew of 3 to 4 runs her out of Boat Lagoon Marina. motor yachts for charter in Phuket →
Her cruising speed is 16 knots, with 32 available flat out, and a gyro stabiliser holds her steady once the anchor is down. Guests have three decks to use: sunpads on the foredeck, a shaded aft deck set up for dining, and a flybridge with a second helm, a dining table, rattan lounge chairs and more sunpads. Inside are the saloon, a formal dining table, the galley and the lower helm.
Her sister ship is the Princess 78 W.J. Lip, the same model and year, chartering at the same published rates. One thing separates the two charters: W.J. Lip carries a jet ski and Maritimus does not.
Who she suits
Maritimus works best for groups that want room: an extended family, a birthday or anniversary, a company day out. Twenty guests spread over three decks without crowding one another, and lunch for the whole party can be laid on the flybridge or the aft deck.
For a night away, 8 guests sleep in 4 cabins, a master, a forward VIP and a twin among them. Rates are quoted for 8 guests, and each additional guest up to 20 is ฿3,000.
What’s included
The charter rate on Maritimus covers the yacht with her captain and crew; fuel for the published engine time; fruit, snacks, drinking water, soft drinks, tea, coffee and 24 cans of beer; snorkelling gear, two paddle boards and the tender; towels; national park and island fees; transfers from your hotel, villa or the airport, plus the marina buggy; insurance; and 7% VAT. A full-day charter also includes lunch.
Not in the rate: meals on half-day and overnight charters (the overnight meal plan is ฿5,000 per person, per day), engine time beyond the allowance at ฿20,000 per hour, and a fuel surcharge on the Racha Noi and Koh Poda routes.
Note: Unlike most of the fleet, Maritimus includes national park and island fees in her rate.
Rates and seasons
Maritimus is charged by the length of the charter, not by where she goes. A full day of 8 hours is ฿300,000 from May to October, ฿320,000 from November to April and ฿350,000 over the 20 Dec – 10 Jan peak. A half day of 4 hours is ฿240,000 in low season and ฿256,000 in high season; there is no half-day rate at peak. Two days and one night aboard is ฿600,000, ฿640,000 or ฿700,000 across the same three seasons.
The pricing table above has the rate for every season, with the fuel surcharge for each route.

The standard rate reaches six itineraries: Phang Nga Bay and Naka Island, the Phi Phi Islands, Koh Hong & Krabi, Coral Island and Promthep Cape, Maiton and Naka Island (Khai & Maiton Islands), or Racha Yai and Maiton (Racha Islands). Going on to Racha Noi adds a ฿20,000 fuel surcharge, and Koh Poda in Krabi ฿40,000. The destination pages describe each route, the best months for it and the other vessels that run it.
